It'll do them but it's slow.I have 2 saws. A husky 350 and a 372. The 372 mainly to get anything that the 350 can't because it's much easier on gas and easier to handle. I run a 28” light bar and RS chain on mine. Got another with a 20” bar EXL chain and 8 pin rim sprocket.The parts will swap out to a 660/650 EVL echo and the parts will sell for more than the whole. Echo makes a good saw as well, believe the 4910 is still available but that saw really needs muffler work to realize it’s full potential. The echos are hard to beat for the price. You can reasonably run 3/8 picco, .325, or 3/8 chain on a 260 depending on what you want to do with it. Personally I like to run bars that are on the short side of my saws' capability, so I generally run 16" bars on 50cc saws. For a 260 I'd pick a 16" .325 bar unless I was only cutting firewood in which case I might go for 3/8 ...
Consider if you shop locally for chain what is available, if you buy saws without bars which bars will be compatible. Husqvarna prefers a 0.050 or 0.058 gauge while Stihl prefers a 0.050 or 0.063 gauge. Circular saws teeth are loaded compressive like scrapers, thick, and backed up behind by the steel blade. chainsaw chain teeth are tensile, sliceing & being pulled into the wood & away from the streangth of the rest to the assembly. I know in rocks the tensile is normally less than 10% of compressive strength.Just a saw that works when needed with enough power is. Smoothly run the 'L' in and out to get the best chain speed. Readjust the chain speed with the 'T' and reset the best 'L' Back the 'T' out till the chain stops creeping,,,,,and a tad more.
