If the bore shows reamer marks across the rifling that may be the problem. If it's smooth then it's something else wrong, like the lube. IMO, it does help with allowing the balls to exit the mould easier. If you have a mold where bullets stick, take 0000 steel wool and gently polish the edges of the cavities. Yup. Charge the gun but use no over-powder wad. Keeping the muzzle pointed up, cap and snap. If it fires, good- then repeat using wadding over the powder charge. It has a higher ignition temperature than pure black. Some shooters start with a 5-10 grain load of real black powder and then some Pyrodex over that.
